Notice of Release of Measures in Student Dormitories – Opening of Student Dormitories

Dear residents of ŠDL,

We would like to inform you that the Government of the Republic of Slovenia has not extended the validity of the Decree on the temporary ban on the gathering of people in institutions in the field of education (hereinafter: the Decree), which is valid until and including 25 April 2021. This means that the ban on gathering in student dormitories will be lifted on 26 April 2021 and that residents can return to student dormitories.

Resident’s statement to contain the spread of COVID-19

Only healthy people who do not show any of the symptoms of COVID-19 (malaise, cold signs, cough, fever, shortness of breath, headache, muscle aches, loss of smell or taste, and sore throat) can return to dormitories. Before returning to ŠDL, it is necessary to fill in the Resident’s statement to contain the spread of COVID-19, which can only be submitted in electronic form via the MojŠtudent application in the services/statements tab. All those who already reside in the institution based on one of the exceptions during the validity of the Decree and have already submitted a statement do not have to fill in the statement again. A completed and submitted statement is a condition for returning to ŠDL.

Infection testing

Following the instructions of the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport, before returning to the dormitory it is recommended to get tested with rapid antigen tests at one of the mass testing sites, where free testing is available. A list of locations is available here. Residents are also recommended to get tested on a weekly basis at the above locations during their stay.

Extraordinary accommodation instructions and general hygiene recommendations of the NIJZ

During the stay, it is necessary to follow the Extraordinary instructions for staying at the Študentski dom Ljubljana to prevent the spread of COVID-19 disease and the general hygiene recommendations of the NIJZ for education, which are available here.

Rent calculation

We would like to inform you that from the day the Decree expires, residents are no longer exempt from paying rent and other costs related to their stay based on a valid accommodation contract. When calculating the rent from the opening day onwards, a credit note will be made for 6 days of rent and 6 days of on-call and security costs for the month of October 2020.

Entrance to the business premises and office hours of the institute’s services

Only healthy persons who do not show any of the symptoms of COVID-19 may enter the business premises of the institution; in doing so, they are obliged to strictly follow the instructions on how to prevent infections. The use of a mask and hand disinfection is mandatory before entering the premises. While waiting for the service, you are obliged to maintain a physical distance of at least 2 m. The office is entered individually.

The Reception office in Rožna dolina, the Reception office of the dormitory for postgraduate students, the Student dormitory office and other services of the institution are available during office hours.
