Coronavirus - The Ordinance of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia

The Ordinance temporarily bans gatherings in student residences in Slovenia.

Dear residents of ŠDL!

On 15 March 2020, the Government of the Republic of Slovenia adopted the “Ordinance prohibiting gatherings of people in education institutions and universities and independent higher education institutions” (hereinafter: the Ordinance) with the aim of controlling the spread of the coronavirus epidemic.

The Ordinance temporarily bans gatherings in student residences in Slovenia, which means that student residences must be vacated by all residents except:

  • students with permanent residence in a student residence,
  • student families, and
  • foreign students and visiting professors prevented from returning to the place of residence due to the current security situation.

According to the ordinance, all other residents are obliged to return home as soon as possible, or leave the student residence by 16 March 2020 by 12 AM at the latest.

You are advised to return today, on 15 March 2020, when the public transport still runs.

Any further information is available today, on 15 March 2020 until 12 PM, at the mobile phone number +386 51 362 995 of the ŠDL reception office, and tomorrow, on 16 March 2020, from 8 AM to 2 PM.

Before going home, please make sure to remove any perishables from the fridges, switch off the lights and stove, close all windows and water taps and lock the room/apartment door. If you have already left, we kindly ask you not to return for your own safety.

We apologise to all residents for the situation but stress that these measures are urgent. Please follow the coronavirus guidelines and the well-known instructions for preventing coronavirus infection and acting in case of suspected infection with coronavirus.

You are also advised to follow the websites and social networks of the National Institute of Public Health (https://www.nijz.si/sl/koronavirus-2019-ncov), which has an open telephone line with the phone number 080 1404 every day between 8 AM and 8 PM, where an expert for talk and specific questions is available. You can also find useful information on the websites of the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

You will be updated about any changes and new measures through the MojŠtudent application and information published on our website.

We hope that you will accept the information with understanding.

Yours sincerely,

ŠDL Management.
