Instructions of the national institute of public health for student dormitories (new coronavirus SARS- CoV-2)

Recommendations of the National Institute of Public Health

The following hygiene measures and recommendations must be followed in student dormitories:
 

  • Frequent aeration of premises.
  • Regular cleaning of common areas according to established procedures.
  • Students and employees must wash their hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water; they should not touch their face, especially the eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Students should minimise their stays in common areas and keep a safe distance to other persons (at least 1.5 m).
     

Students with acute respiratory tract infections should self-isolate and not leave the student dormitory for at least 14 days or longer if they still have symptoms of acute respiratory infections. The following instructions must be followed:
 

  • The student must stay in his/her room and use his/her toilet and bathroom; if there are no toilet or bathroom in his/her room, he/she should use his/her designated toilet and bathroom.
  • The student must clean his/her room and toilet by himself/herself with common cleaning products and tools.
  • If possible, arrange the preparation and delivery of food to his/her room with other persons, who must ensure a minimum distance of 1.5 meters (from the sick student).
  • He/she should wash hands thoroughly with soap and water and comply with the respiratory hygiene.
  • In the event of a deterioration of his/her medical conditions, he/she must immediately call a selected or on-duty physician. If the student does not have a selected physician (e.g. a foreigner), he/she should call 112.
